Raw Food Diet for Cats or dogs (for dogs substitute 4 lbs. Of meat for the tuna) ? Recipe (feeds my 5 cats for several months ? I supplement with Evo (no grain) Diet dry food?a small amount with each feeding.
If you are switching your cat or dog on raw food, make sure you switch very very slowly. Start with a teaspoon per feeding, add it to their regular food.
The ratio of meat to veges should be 75%-25%. The most important consideration with this food is that you always include a buffer such as bone meal. Bone meal is essential in the digestive process when using raw meat. Also, use high quality oils to bring your fat content to the required percentage. Check with an alternative vet if you have questions. I no longer have teeth problems with my cats now that they eat raw and have no grains in their diets. And their weight is stable. No fatties!
Artemis is another no-grain dry food that is excellent.
Meat (approximately 75%)
Ground Beef 8-9 lbs.
Ground Turkey 8-9 lbs.
Canned Tuna (industrial size 4lbs)
I buy all the above at Sam?s
Totals about 40 cups

Raw and frozen vegetables (25%) Process with half amount of water required for recipe in Cuisinart or Blender:

Sweet potato
Carrots
Collards with stem removed
Beets
Green beans
Frozen:
peas
blueberries
canned organic pumpkin puree (not pie mix) my cat's favorite

Totals about10 cups
Water: 10 cups
Fats: Should be 15-25% range (15% ideal) Since the meat and chicken average only around 8-9% fat content total, I add oils.
2 cup flax seed oil
1 cup olive oil
Supplements:
Bone meal (needs to be 3-7%): 3 cups
Can use plain bone meal from garden shops. Cook in microwave or oven to dry and kill any organic matter. Sift out any large items. Lately I've been saving my organic eggshells in the freezer. I bake them in the oven and grind them in the cuisinart and use them as a source of calcium.
Power Paws: 1 jar (available thru my website) This is an all purpose supplement.
Acidopholus: 1 Tablespoon
Ground Flax seed: 2 cups
Vitamin E: 2 stoppers full of liquid E
Cod Liver Oil: 1 Tablespoon
Seameal: 1 cup(manufactured by ?Solid Gold? which sells really great products for companion animals? diet.)

Freeze in pint freezer zip locks=1 cup to a bag. I feed my cats twice a day. 1 cup feeds my 5 cats for one day(approx. 2 1/2 TBLS per feeding with 1 Tbls Evo dry food).
